A marriage so full of love that it looses its vigour…

While explaining the purpose of marriage: {وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا  وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ} [الروم: 21] …And from his signs is that he created for you from yourselves a pair so that you may find solace with her; and He made between you …

Giving one child better treatment than others

It appears in Bukhaari Shareef [1] that a sahaabi by the name of Nu`maan bin Basheer radiallahu anhu had presented a slave to his son. His wife insisted that she would only be pleased with him until Nabi salallahu alayhi wasallam approved of him presenting the slave to his son.

So which favours of your Rabb do the two of you deny? In both (gardens) there shall be two gushing springs. So which favours of your Rabb do the two of you deny? In both there shall be a pair of every fruit. (Qur’ān Ch. 50 V. 46-52)

Many of us have confined the issue of Iṣlāh and reformation to only our outward appearance, or maybe to the acts of ʿibadāt (worships). We come to our masjid, and perform our salāt, make some tilāwah of qur’ān, make some ẓikr, probably give some ṣadaqah and charity, wear a sunnah clothing and keep a beard. But with all that, the internal value of the human being is equally important. And that is our muʿāmalāt, our dealings with people, even in the outside world.
